Deposition recording begins in Khaleda\\\'s absence

A Dhaka court started Monday recording the deposition of the witnesses in Zia Orphanage Trust and Zia Charitable Trust graft cases in absence of BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia, reports UNB.
Harunur Rashid, deputy director of Anti-corruption Commission (ACC) and also the investigation officer of the case, gave his deposition before the court from 12:30 pm to 12:40 pm.
The court also fixed October 13 for next hearing of the cases filed against BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia and others.
After a short hearing, Judge Basudeb Roy of the Special Judge Court-3 passed the order, rejecting six petitions filed by the defence lawyers seeking adjournment of the hearing in the Zia Orphanage Trust and Zia Charitable Trust graft cases.
