Foreign Minister (FM) Dr Dipu Moni Thursday said Bangladesh is keen to see the resolution of all pending issues with India, reports BSS. "Bangladesh is keen to see the resolution of all pending issues with India including conclusion of an arrangement for sharing of the waters of the Teesta and other common rivers and the demarcation of land boundary," she said. The FM made the remarks when she called on visiting Indian Vice President Mohammad Hamid Ansari at a city hotel. During the meeting, the FM welcomed the Indian Vice President and noted that the joint celebration of the 150th birth anniversary of Rabindranath Tagore, which was one of the initiatives agreed on during the visit of Prime Minister (PM) Sheikh Hasina to India in January 2010, was also a celebration of shared heritage of the two countries. Moni and Ansari also briefly touched on all aspects of the bilateral relations between Bangladesh and India and expressed satisfaction at the progress of the various initiatives agreed upon during the visit of the PM to India. They also expressed satisfaction that the various institutional mechanisms set up between the two countries in the areas of border management, security, boundary demarcation, water resources cooperation, trade and commerce, and customs and communications were meeting regularly and working in harmony to resolve all issues for mutual benefit. The Indian Vice President arrived here today on a two-day official visit to Bangladesh to join the 150th birth anniversary celebration of Nobel laureate poet Rabindranath Tagore.
