Dhaka-London 3rd strategic dialogue tomorrow

Bangladesh and the United Kingdom (UK) will discuss ways to further strengthen relations between the two countries during the third Bangladesh-UK strategic dialogue to be held in the city tomorrow (Wednesday), reports UNB.
The two governments will exchange views on political and bilateral issues, economic and development cooperation, security cooperation, current global issues, including the Rohingya crisis, says a diplomatic source.
Permanent Under Secretary and Head of the Diplomatic Service at the Foreign and Commonwealth Office Sir Simon McDonald was scheduled to arrive in the city on Tuesday to lead the UK side at the meeting, a senior official told the news agency on Monday.
Foreign Secretary M Shahidul Haque is likely to lead the Bangladesh side at the dialogue.
The UK and Bangladesh held their second strategic dialogue on March 15 last year at the Foreign and Commonwealth Office in London.
Describing Bangladesh as a developing giant on the world stage, British High Commissioner Robert Chatterton Dickson recently said the UK wants a stronger political partnership with the South Asian nation.
"The political relationship has huge potential as Bangladesh assumes its rightful place as a developing giant on the world stage," he said.
