Bangladesh Medical Technology and Pharmacy Students' Association (BMTPSA) demanded Saturday that the government form a Diploma Medical Education Board instead of the proposed Paramedical Education Board, reports UNB.
The organisation came up with the demand at a press conference at Dhaka Reporters' Unity (DRU) in the city.
Speaking on the occasion, BMTPSA convener Jasim Uddin also said that a separate university named Bangladesh University of Medical Science Technology should be established for the medical technologists.
BMTPSA's other demands include creating first class posts for BSC Medical Technologists in government hospitals and medical colleges and launching MSC courses in medical colleges.
Member secretary of the association Hedayetul Islam Shibli, among others, were present at the press conference.
