NEW YORK, Sept 29 (UNB): Foreign Affairs Adviser Dr Iftekhar Ahmed Chowdhury had a meeting with Commonwealth Secretary General Don McKinnon on the sidelines of the current United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) here Friday.
During the meeting, the adviser apprised the Secretary General of the progress being made along the roadmap to election by the end of December 2008.
Speaking to the journalists after the meeting, the adviser said: "We will work with all our friends and particularly the Commonwealth to reach that goal. In the meanwhile, being a responsible international actor, we will continue our commitment to good governance."
Later, in the evening, Iftekhar Ahmed attended a Commonwealth Ministerial Committee Meeting.
