DU BCL activist beaten up

An activist of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) was seriously injured as a leader of the organisation beat him up with hammer at Dhaka University (DU) on Saturday night, reports UNB.

The injured was identified as Sohag Miah, a 3rd year student of the Library Management and Information Science Department of the university.

Witnesses said SM Sonet, joint secretary of Sir AF Rahman Hall BCL unit, called Sohag to his room (no 308) and beat him with a hammer at night, leaving him injured.

Later he was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital.

After primary treatment, he was admitted to DU medical centre.
