Home Adviser Md Jahangir Alam Chowdhury has described the DUCSU election as a model for the national election, reiterating that they are committed to delivering a peaceful and festive election for the nation, reports BSS.
"The voters are exercising their rights spontaneously in the DUCSU election. While, it is not exactly the same as the national elections, it serves a model. The DUCSU election can be an example for the national election," he said.
The Home adviser made the remarks after a meeting of the Advisory Council on Law and Order at the Secretariat in the capital on Tuesday.
He also said, "We want to give the gift of a peaceful and festive national election."
The Home adviser said they held a discussion with the Dhaka University (DU) vice-chancellor about the DUCSU elections on Monday.
