Dhaka University Central Students' Union (DUCSU) Vice President Nurul Haque Nur on Thursday protested releasing of an audio clip containing his conversation on the social media saying there was an ulterior motive behind.

His honour has been damaged by the act, that has also left people confused, Nur said at a press conference at Madhur Canteen on the campus in the morning.

Nur said the audio clip partly contained his talks between him and his aunt and one of his acquaintances.

He gave a 24-hour ultimatum to three media outlets- DBC, News24 and Bangladesh Pratidin- for publishing the audio clip, with a note of warning, "If they don't apologise, I will take legal action."

"The talks were absolutely personal, involving business," Nur added, saying " I was talking to a man, one of my acquaintances, regarding a bank guarantee of Tk 13 crore for my aunt's construction firm,"

Meanwhile, a group of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) activists were chanting slogans at the press conference venue when Nur was addressing it.

Earlier, Muktijuddho Moncho, a platform of descendants of freedom fighters, padlocked Nur's office room on Wednesday, demanding his resignation from the VP post.
