Dy Speaker pays tribute to Bangabandhu

TUNGIPARA, Gopalganj, Sept 03 (BSS): The newly elected Deputy Speaker of the Jatiya Sangsad Md Shamsul Haque Tuku, MP, on Saturday paid rich tributes to Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman by placing a wreath at his mausoleum at Tungipara in Gopalganj.
After laying the wreath, he stood in solemn silence for sometime as a mark of profound respect to the memory of the Father of the Nation.
Later, he offered doa seeking eternal peace of the departed souls of Bangabandhu and other martyrs who embraced martyrdom in the August 15 carnage.
A special prayer was also offered for the sound health and long life of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
The deputy speaker also signed the visitors' book at the Tungipara Mausoleum Complex.
Members of the Parliament - Sultan Mohammad Mansur, Manoranjan Sheel Gopal, Habibur Rahman, MPs of the women reserved seats, Basanti Chakma, Umme Fatema Nazma Begum alias Shiuli Azad, Aroma Dutta, Syeda Rubina Akhter Mira, Rowshan Ara Mannan, Waseqa Ayesha Khan, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Shahida Sultana, among others, were present.
