EC appoints authority to revise draft voter list

The Election Commission (EC) has appointed a revising authority to dispose of the petitions about claim, objection and correction in the draft voter list ahead of the 13th parliamentary election, reports BSS.

A notification to this end, signed by deputy secretary of EC Secretariat, Md Rafiqul Islam was issued on Monday.

It mentioned that the designation of the officer appointed as revising authority in 64 districts and cantonment areas and the area or jurisdiction designated for the correction authority in the notification.

The notification said based on information collected in the voter list update process, the EC has appointed the revising authority to resolve the claims, objections and applications regarding corrections submitted in the prescribed form in the draft voter list .
