EC approves transfer of 338 OCs, 158 UNOs

The Election Commission (EC) has approved the transfers of 338 officers-in-charge (OCs) of different thanas and 158 pazila nirbahi officers (UNOs) in a bid to hold the January 7 general election in a free and fair manner, reports BSS.

"The EC gave approval to the transfer lists of OCs and UNOs given by the Public Administration Ministry," said EC Secretariat Additio-nal Secretary Ashok Kumar Debnath on Thursday.

Earlier, on December 4, the EC approved a Public Administration Ministry proposal for transferring 47 UNOs, he said.

On November 30, the EC ordered to transfer the OCs and UNOs across the country.
