EC to hold dialogue with KSJL today

The Election Commission will sit with Krishak Sramik Janata League today (Sunday) to discuss its draft proposals for the reforms of electoral laws, reports UNB.
Officials said agenda of the dialogue would focus on the Representation People Order 1972, the Political Party Registration Rules 2001 and the Election Codes of Conduct 1996.
On September 12, the EC first sat with Islamic Oikya Jote (IOJ), a partner of the previous BNP-led coalition government, and discussed the reform measures.
The EC has primarily selected 15 political parties on the basis of three criteria, which are also the three major conditions set in the political party registration rules.
According to the dialogue schedules prepared in accordance with the Bangla alphabetical order, the EC will sit with Bangladesh Awami League on November 4 and Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) on November 22.
The dialogue schedules for other parties are: Ganotantrik Dal September 20, Jatiya Party (Ershad) September 27, Jatiya Party (Manju) October 4,JSD (Inu) October 9, JSD (Rab) October 22, Jamaat-e-Islami October 25, NAP (Mozaffar) October 28, Between the time period, Workers Party November 11, Bangladesh Jatiya Party (Naziur) November 15, CPB November 25 and Samyabadi Dal November 29.
