October 28, 2007 00:00:00

National Awami Party (NAP-Muzaffar) will place a 31-point reform proposal at the dialogue on electoral reforms with Election Commission (EC) today (Sunday), reports UNB.
The reform proposal is being prepared in the light of AL-led 14-Party's 31-point proposal that was placed before the nation by Awami League (AL) President Sheikh Hasina in July 2005 and will be identical with it.
NAP (Muzaffar), a component of the 14-Party alliance, held a bilateral meeting with the AL on October 24 and took the decision to place the identical reform proposals.
Agenda of the dialogue focus on the Representation of People Order 1972, the Political Parties Registration Rules 2001, the Election Codes of Conduct 1996 and transparent ballot box.
The EC first sat with Islamic Oikya Jote (IOJ) on September 12, Krishak-Sramik Janata League (KSJL) on September 16, Gonotantri Party on September 20, Jatiya Party (Manju) October 4, JSD (Rob) October 22 and Jamaat-e-Islami October 25 to discuss the agenda.
The EC has primarily selected 15 political parties for the dialogue on electoral reforms.
