BOGRA, Oct 20 (UNB): Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested a local Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) leader and seven terrorists from Jamfol Char in Sariakandi Upazila in the district on various charges.
The arrested were Sariakandi thana BNP President Rafiqul Islam (50), Altaf (28), Azizar (33), Ahsan Habib (17), Abdul Majid (45), Wahed (26), Solaiman (30) and Kabir Hossain (23).
RAB said the BNP leader and his associates were involved in various crimes in the char area of Sariakandi and Jamalpur including piracy, extortion and murder.
