Eight Shibir, JCD activists sued in Bagerhat

BAGERHAT, Aug 11 (UNB): A Chhatra Shibir leader was arrested following a case filed against him and seven other Shibir and JCD activists for trying to resist the authority and students of Bagerhat Government PC College from celebrating its 90th founding anniversary.

Principal of the college Sohrab Hossain filed the case against Manjurul Haque Rahat, Sajjat Hossain, Jasim, Mizan, Sabuj, Sujit, Hasan and Shaon and 15/20 unknown persons with the Sadar thana Saturday night.

After filing of the case, police arrested district Shibir Secretary Rahat on the same day. He is a 4th year student of the Political Science Department of the college.

In the complaint, the Principal said a group of unruly students of the college tried to resist the college authorities from celebrating the 90th founding anniversary of the college Saturday and also asked other students not to attend the programme.
