Elected govt to get US support, says Crowley

Joseph Crowley, Bangladesh Caucus Chairman at the US Congress, said whoever people of Bangladesh elects to power will get full support of the United States (US), reports BSS according to message received from New York Friday.
At an annual holiday celebration party Thursday night at Queens Museum of Art, in the city, he said the US government was eager to work with new government of Bangladesh to be decided through majority of people in the upcoming election.
Crowley has expressed the hope that Bangladesh's election would be held in a free, fair and impartial manner.
He also conveyed his thanks to the present caretaker government for lifting the state of emergency.
The Congressman said President-elect Barack Obama and his team wished to see Bangladesh as a corruption-free nation.
The function was attended by leader of the Democratic Party Mohammad Aminullah, Probashi Nagorik Committee Chief Mohadeb Sarker, America-Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (ABCCI)'s president Giash Ahmed, Secretary Hasanuzzaman Hasan and Professor Mebel Gomez.
New York's influential Senator Chuck Schumer and former slain President John F Kennedy's only daughter Caroline Kennedy showed a lot of interest towards the Bangladesh community in the US.
