Electoral process to be restored with next polls: EC Abul Fazal

The upcoming 13th parliamentary election is going to be the beginning of restoration of the electoral process in the country, Election Commissioner (EC) Abul Fazal Md Sanaullah said on Wednesday.

"If I say metaphorically, it (the 13th national election) is like taking a derailed train back on track and resuming its operation," he said.

"It is like accelerating with minimum repair and some machinery replacement," he said, adding that if it can be done that will be the first phase of achievement.

"Then our subsequent elections will be more enhanced," he said.

The EC made the remarks while addressing as the chief guest an event marking the launch of a project related to observation of the national election held at the conference centre of the NGO Affairs Bureau headquarters in the city's Agargaon .
