Ex-AL MP Saleha dead PM shocked

FARIDPUR, Aug 29 (BSS): Former Awami League (AL) lawmaker (reserved seat) of the 9th parliament Saleha Mosharraf died at the Faridpur Medical College Hospital last night after prolonged illness originated from cancer.
She was 66.
Saleha Mosharraf was also elected law maker in the 7th parliament (Faridpur-4) for some time following the death of her husband Advocate Mosharraf Hossain, a valiant organiser of the liberation war and law maker of that constituency since 1970.
Advocate Mosharraf died in 1999 and after his death Saleha Mosharraf was elected in the by-election.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina expressed deep shock at the death of Saleha Mosharraf.
In a condolence message, the PM said Bangladesh Awami League as well as the people of Faridpur will ever-remember the contribution of Saleha Mosharraf as a dedicated leader.
Sheikh Hasina prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed profound sympathy to the bereaved family members.
Deputy Leader of the House Syeda Sajeda Chowdhury, MP, Overseas Employment and Expatriates Minister Engineer Khondoker Mosharraf Hossain, MP, also condoled the death of their long time colleague Saleha Mosharraf. They expressed deep sympathy to the bereaved family of Saleha and prayed to Almighty Allah for the salvation of the departed soul.
