COX'S BAZAR, Feb 9 (UNB): A Cox's Bazar court has sent former deputy commission (DC) Md Ruhul Amin to jai in a case over document forgery.
Judge of Cox's Bazar District and Sessions Judge Court Munshi Abdul Majid passed the order on Sunday, said the court's Public Prosecutor Siraj Ullah.
Earlier, the former DC surrendered before the court, he said.
According to court sources, AKM Kaisarul Islam Chowdhury, a resident of Matarbari of Moheshkhali upazila, filed a case against 28 people including Ruhul Amin alleging misappropriation of Tk 200 million from a land acquisition process related to the construction of a thermal power plant.
The case was filed with Senior Special Judge's Court in Cox's Bazar and Ruhul Amin was the prime accused.
