A Dhaka court has placed former DGFI director and dismissed Lieutenant Colonel Md Afzal Naser on a four-day remand in a case lodged over the killing of one Mahmudul Hasan in the capital's Uttara area during the July Mass Uprising, 2024, reports BSS.
Dhaka Additional Metropolitan Magistrate Sefatullah passed the order on Thursday as police produced Naser before the court with a seven-day remand prayer.
A team of the Detective Branch (DB) of police arrested Afzal Naser from his residence in Mirpur DOHS on March 30, 2026.
According to the case documents, Mahmudul Hasan joined a procession of anti-discrimination student movement on August 5, 2024, in Uttara’s Azampur area.
