Ex lawmaker Monju of Kishoregonj sent to jail hajot

KISHOREGONJ, Nov 14 (UNB): Former lawmaker Mujibur Rahman Monju was sent to jail hajot Wednesday when he surrendered to the court in connection with a murder case.
Monju, who was elected from Bajitpur-Nikli constituency on BNP ticket, is the main accused in the murder of Gurui union parishad chairman Taheruddin Tahu, who was shot dead on October 10 last year.
The wife of the victim filed the case against Monju and his accomplices.
Monju later secured an interim bail from the High Court to avoid arrest.
Informed sources said Monju quietly came to Dhaka early this week to meet BNP secretary general Khondoker Delwar Hossain.
