Ex-MCA Fazlul Karim dies

THAKURGAON, Jan 9 (BSS): Language veteran, valiant Freedom Fighter (FF) and former Member of Constituent Assembly (MCA) Fazlul Karim died of old-age complications at his residence here this morning.
He was 89.
He left behind his wife, two sons, a daughter and a host of relatives and well-wishers to mourn his death.
The namaz-e-janaza of the deceased will be held tomorrow (Saturday) at Thakurgaon Boys' High School playground at 11 am and later, he will be buried at the Thakurgaon old graveyard.
During his long political career, he was one of the associates of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman from Islamia College in Kolkata. At that time, he joined the Awami League.
Fazlul Karim played an active role in Language Movement in 1952, Jukto front election and all the movements led by AL.
