Ex-minister Anisul shown arrested in fresh cases

A Dhaka court has showed former law minister Anisul Huq arrested in separate cases filed over murder and attempted murder during the July Mass Uprising, reports BSS.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Monirul Islam passed the order on Monday as police produced him before the court and pleaded to show him arrested in the cases over the murder of Shawon Shikder and the attempted murder of Md Ashraful.

According to case documents, Shawon Shikder was shot while returning to his Lalbagh residence on July 19, 2024. He was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital, where doctors declared him dead.
