Ex-minister Forhad on remand

MEHERPUR, Jan 30 (UNB): A Meherpur court has placed Farhad Hossain, former public administration minister, on a two-day remand.
Meherpur Senior Judicial Magistrate Sharmin Nahar passed the order on Thursday after police produced Farhad, also president of Meherpur district unit of Awami League, before the court.
Earlier on Wednesday night, police took the AL leader to Meherpur jail.
He was also shown arrested in two cases filed for attacking students during the anti-discrimination movement.
Police arrested Farhad from Dhaka's Eskatan area on September 14.
