Ex-MP Abdur Rashid dies

GOPALGANJ, Aug 15 (BSS): Former Member of Parliament (MP) of Gopalganj-1 and District Administrator Advocate Abdur Rashid died of old-age complications at his residence on Thursday night.

He was 82.

Mr Rashid was elected a lawmaker from Awami League in 1970. Later, he joined the War of Liberation in 1971. He was also elected MP in 1979 and 1991.

Abdur Rashid played a significant role in framing constitution and put signature on the constitution in 1972.

He left behind his three sons, a daughter and a host of relatives and well-wishers to mourn his death.
