Ex-MP Ansar Ahmed laid to eternal rest

COMILLA, Jun 27 (UNB): Former Jatiya Party (JP) lawmaker Ansar Ahmed who died Tuesday was laid to eternal rest with state honour here Friday.
Mr Ahmed, also a freedom fighter, was buried at Bishnupur Graveyard following a namaz-e-janaza at Central Eidgah at 6.00 pm. Before the janaza, he was given a guard of honour.
The former Jaitya Party lawmaker breathed his last at Samorita Hospital in the capital Tuesday morning at the age of 66.
Ansar Ahmed, who was born at Mogaltuli in Comilla city in 1947, was elected Member of Parliament (MP) from Sadar constituency two times-first in 1986 and then in 1988.
