Ex-Shibir chief on remand

A Dhaka court has placed three people including former president of Islami Chhatra Shibir Rashedul Islam Rashed on a seven-day remand in an explosives act, reports BSS.
The two other remanded accused are Jamaat-e-Islami treasurer Khandaker Mizanur Rahman and executive committee member Mohammad Abdur Rashid.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Zaki Al Farabi passed the order on Sunday as police produced the trio before the court and pleaded to place them on a 10-day remand in the case.
Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) on July 27 arrested them from an office in Dhanmandi and recovered a couple of cocktails and other explosive substances from the place.
