Ex-state minister Harun Al Rashid passes away

Five-time lawmaker from Brahmanbaria-3 and former state minister Harun Al Rashid died while undergoing treatment at a hospital in the capital, reports BSS
Harun Al Rashid also served as a vice chairman of theBNP and was elected Member of Parliament from the Brahmanbaria-3 constituency five times.
He passed away at about 9:00 pm on Thursday at the Bangladesh Specialised Hospital. He was 87.
Family sources said he had been suffering from age-related complications for several days and had been kept on life support.
He is survived by his wife, two sons, one daughter and a host of relatives and admirers.
Confirming the death, Sirajul Islam, Administrator of Brahmanbaria Zila Parishad and general secretary of the district BNP, said Harun Al Rashid had been seriously ill for some time and died while receiving treatment.
The janaza of Harun Or Rashid was held at the South Plaza of the Jatiya Sangsad on Friday.
Speaker Hafiz Uddin Ahmad expressed gratitude to all those present at the
janaza.
BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has expressed deep shock and sorrow at the death of Harun Or Rashid.
