Expelled pupils take CU exams!

CHATTOGRAM, Aug 03: Two expelled students of Chattogram University (CU) attended the second-year honours final examination on Wednesday, violating the rules.
On 16 September 2021, sources said, the CU expelled four students, who were also Chhatra League leaders, for one year for sexually harassing two female students of journalism department.
The students were identified as Jannatul Islam Rubel of Islamic history, Junaid Ahamed of Arabic, Md Imon Ahammed and Rakib Hasan Raju of philosophy departments.
They all were students of the 2019-20 academic session.
Violating the law, Mr Imon and Mr Raju of the philosophy attended the exams.
Talking to the FE, Md Abdul Manan, chairman of the department, said, "We didn't get any directive from the administration regarding them up till now. So, they attended the exams."
CU acting register SM Monirul Hasan said the order of expelling four students were effective from the date of taking the decision of expelling by the disciplinary committee last year.
"But the authorities are yet to send the order to the departments concerned," he told the FE.
Meanwhile, sexual harassers' attendance in academic exams has created quite a stir among general students.
