Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Advocate Anisul Huq said on Saturday there is no scope to seek opinion from stakeholders on the bill to restore power of the Jatiya Sangsad (JS) to impeach Supreme Court (SC) judges, but expert opinion will be taken during enactment of the impeachment law, reports BSS.
He was speaking as the chief guest at a conference jointly organised by National Legal Aid Services Organisation and Community Legal Services titled 'National Conference on Access to Justice through Partnership with Government Legal Aid and NGOs', at a city hotel.
Describing judiciary as asset for all, the minister also said, "The dignity of the judiciary will be increased with the 16th amendment to the constitution. The judiciary will also be secured (through the amendment). The people who are thinking about judiciary will get the scope to give opinions."
