June 22, 2015 00:00:00

BNP acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir secured on Sunday bail from the High Court (HC) in three cases of vandalism, reports bdnews24.com.

This removes all obstacles for the release of the BNP acting secretary general from jail, according to his lawyers.

The bench of Justice Md Rezaul Haque and Justice Md Khasruzzaman granted interim bail for Mirza Fakhrul in the cases filed with Paltan thana for vandalism and arson.

"Mirza Fakhrul has got bail in all of the seven cases against him. There's no more hurdles for his release from jail," the BNP leader's lawyer Joynul Adedin said.

He said the court has issued a rule asking why Mirza Fakhrul will not be granted permanent bail and Dhaka's deputy commissioner has been asked to come up with explanations by four weeks.
