Awami League (AL) General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader on Monday said the fall of those who do politics over terrorism and arson, is inevitable, reports BSS.

"BNP wants to oust the government through a sneak attack in the name of blockade. AL leaders and workers should remain alert. The AL will hold its peace and development rallies until the next elections. The country's people are eager to vote for Sheikh Hasina," he said.

Quader made the remarks while speaking at the opening ceremony of Bhangapur Bridge construction in Sylhet's Balaganj virtually from the AL's Dhaka district office in Tejgaon in the morning.

He said BNP staged a drama of fraudulence in the name of movement on October 28 last, while they (BNP men) carried out violence, killed policeman, and attacked journalists, police hospital and the residence of the Chief Justice.

The people of Bangladesh are not safe under the BNP's reign, he added.

Claiming that there is a lack of information in the statement of the European Union (EU) over the arrests of political leaders and activists, the AL general secretary said today the EU is asking for the release of 8,000 BNP leaders and activists.
