Falu sent to jail after five-day remand

A Dhaka court Saturday sent former BNP MP Mosaddek Ali Falu to jail after a five-day remand in a relief material embezzlement case, reports bdnews24.com.
Dhaka District Magi-strate's Court Magistrate Delwara Begum issued the order.
Investigation officer Abdus Salam, an assistant director of the Anti -corruption Commission, appealed to court seeking an order to send Falu to jail.
Joint forces seized 650 relief CI sheets from Falu's Dhaka-Shanghai Ceramics in Konapara in Savar in February.
Ashulia Police Station Sub-inspector Ismail Hossain filed the case against him for using relief tin sheets for his firm, which were meant for relief to disaster victims.
Joint forces arrested Falu on February 4 at his DOHS home in Dhaka.
