Family, counsel meet Akhter Hamid in jail

NAOGAON, Mar 23 (UNB): The family and counsel met former deputy speaker Akhter Hamid Siddiqi in jail Monday afternoon.
His wife Nasrin Siddiqi, son Parvez Arefin Siddiqi and five counsel met him for 30 minutes from 4-30pm. Advocate AZM Rafiqul Alam after meeting Siddiqi told reporters that the former deputy speaker and BNP leader has advised his supporters and party rank and file not to indulge in violence in seeking his release. Siddiqi was thrown into jail Saturday on 30 days’ detention under the Special Powers Act, 1947.
