Post and Telecommunications Minister Razi Uddin Ahmed Razu Friday urged the freedom fighters to forge a strong unity among themselves, shunning all differences, to resist conspiracies by evil forces and build a prosperous Bangladesh, reports BSS.
The Minister made the appeal while speaking at a reception programme for freedom fighters at Narsingdi town hall Friday.
Mr Razu said the defeated forces of 1971 have created rifts among the freedom fighters after the assassination of Bangabandhu to reap political benefits.
The local Public Library organised the reception for the freedom fighters and publication ceremony of a book on the freedom fighters.
The minister said the goal, for which the freedom fighters had liberated the country, could not be attained in the last 38 years for various conspiracies.
The function was addressed, among others, by Lt Col (retd) Nazrul Islam, MP and Public Library Chairman Manirul Islam.
