Comptroller and Auditor General of Bangladesh Asif Ali Sunday stressed the need for formulating a modern field-based in-service training policy to enhance the capacity of the trainers, reports UNB.
Comptroller and Auditor General Asif Ali stated this while speaking as the chief guest at a function of distributing certificates among the government officials in the city Sunday.
Secretary of the Finance Division of Finance Ministry Mohammad Tareque was present as the special guest at the function.
The function was organised by Financial Management Academy (FIMA).
About 18 officials obtained Master of Arts (MA) and another three received diploma in Government Financial Management from the University of Ulster in the United Kingdom (UK) under the Financial Management Reform Programme (FMRP).
Speaking on the occasion, Asif Ali said receiving certificate is the recognition of completion of the training course, but it does not mean the end of the training.
He urged the recipients to care the services properly and disseminate the knowledge earned from abroad through completion of the necessary training. "Organise in-house training at your desks for sharing the ideas with your colleagues," said Asif Ali.
Terming the trainers as 'inputs' for the country, he said everybody should be devoted to serving the government, the society as well as the country. "The government is providing you money as loan," he added.
Appreciating junior officials for obtaining diploma through the research training, Mohammad Tareque urged them to maximize their utility and expertise for greater interest of the society.
