RAJSHAHI, June 30 (UNB): The Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) arrested five suspected members of banned militant group Ansar Al Islam from the city's Katakhali area on Sunday.
Rab identified them as Anisur Rahman Saddam, 30, Afroza Begum, 55, Ruhul Amin, 31, Mamun-or-Rashid, 35, and Abu Talha, 21. All of them are residents of the upazila.
Acting on a tip-off, a Rab team conducted separate drives in the area from 1:15am to 5am and arrested them, Rab-5 said.
The team also recovered two foreign-made pistols, two magazines, five bullets, 24 cocktails, and Jihadi books from them, he said.
