Five Jamaat men held

CHITTAGONG, Sept 4 (BSS): Chittagong district police in a series of drives on Thursday night detained 211 people, including five activists of Jamaat-e-Islami, in different upazilas of the district.
Jamaat-e-Islami leaders and activists were picked up from Satkania and Lohagara upazilas for their alleged links with separate cases filed during the blockade, violence in January this year.
In addition to upazila police, nearly 225 additional policemen were engaged in the drives that were conducted in different parts of the district including Satkania, Lohagara, Sitakund, Boalkhali, Patiya, Banskhali and Chandanaish upazilas.
