Former AL MP Sultanul Kabir Chy passes away

CHITTAGONG, Jun 30 (UNB): Former Awami League (AL) MP from Banshkhali constituency Sultanul Kabir Chowdhury, also senior president of the district (South) unit of AL, died of heart attack in Dhaka early Monday. He was 68.

Sultanul Kabir breathed his last at his residence in the capital at about 4:00am.

His first namaz-e-janaza will be held in Banshkhali Tuesday morning.

His second janaza will be held at Laldighi Maidan of the port city at about 2:00pm.

Later, he will be buried at Garibullah Shah Dorgah graveyard.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister (PM) Sheikh Hasina Monday expressed deep shock at the death of Sultanul Kabir Chowdhury.

The PM prayed for the eternal salvation of the departed soul and expressed sympathy to his bereaved family members.

Speaker of the Jatiya Sangsad Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury and Deputy Speaker M Fazle Rabbi Miah expressed deep shock at the death of veteran language hero and former lawmaker Sultanul Kabir Chowdhury.

In a condolence message, the Speaker said the nation lost a veteran politician and social worker with his death.

Dr Shirin prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed profound sympathy to the bereaved family.
