A Dhaka court has sent Tareque M Barkatullah, former director of the Data Centre, to jail in a case lodged for allegedly selling citizens' National ID (NID) information, reports BSS.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Mehedi Hasan passed the order on Thursday as police produced the accused before the court and pleaded to keep him behind the bars till the end of probe.
Detective branch (DB) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police arrested Tareque M Barkatullah from capital's Kafrul area on October 9.
One Enamul Haque filed the case against 19 people including ousted prime minister Sheikh Hasina's son and her ICT adviser Sajeeb Wazed Joy, and former state minister for ICT Zunaid Ahmed Palak.
