SIRAJGANJ, May 13 (UNB): A special tribunal on Sunday sentenced four female members of banned militant outfit Jama'atul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) to five years' jail in a case filed under the Explosive Substances Act.
Sirajganj Special Tribunal- 1 judge Fahmida Kader pronounced the verdict.
The convicts are Tabassum Rani (32), wife of Mahbubur Rahman of Badullapur village of Salanga upazila in the district, Habiba Aktar Mishu (20), wife of Khalid Hasan of Fulkot village in Shahjahanpur of Bogura, Rumana Begum (21), wife of Shaharul Islam of Bochaganj village of Gonindaganj in Gaibandha, Rumana Aktar Ruma (23), wife of Sumon Ahmed Bijoy of Poranbaria village of Shahjadpur in Bogura.
Police arrested them along with six crude bombs, grenade making materials, 10 circuit boards and nine books on militancy from a house in Masumpur area of the municipality on July 23 in 2016.
