Four hurt in bomb blast at 14-party rally in city

At least four people, including a local Swechchhasebak League leader, were injured as a crude bomb was exploded in a protest rally of the ruling Awami League-led 14-party alliance in the city's Hazaribagh area on Wednesday, reports UNB.

Police said miscreants blasted a crude bomb near the stage of the protest rally in the evening at Hazaribagh Park, leaving several people injured.

Local MP Barrister Sheikh Fazle Noor Taposh was on the stage when the incident took place, said Moinul Islam, officer-in-charge (OC) of Hazaribagh thana.

The other injured were Mukhtar Hossain (28), vice president of Swechchhasebak League Ward No 22 unit and one Selim (30) and Riaz Ahmed (30).

They were taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
