Four Jubo Dal leaders sent to jail in Bogra

BOGRA, Jun 27 (UNB): A court here Thursday sent four leaders and activists of the district unit Jubo Dal, including its general secretary Arafatur Rahman Apple, to jail after rejecting their bail petitions in a case for their involvement in a clash with police over announcement of the January 5 polls schedule.

Bogra Judicial Magistrate passed the order when they appeared before the court seeking bail Thursday.

The other accused are Ashraful Islam, Santu Mia and Faruk Hossain.

The leaders and activists of BNP's student front clashed with police at Satmatha in the town soon after announcement of the schedule of the 10th general election for January 5.

Police filed a case in this connection.
