Further probe report in Hadi murder case on May 17

A Dhaka court has set May 17 for the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) to submit its report on further investigation into the sensational murder of Inqilab Mancha spokesperson Sharif Osman Hadi, reports BSS.

Dhaka Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Jashita Islam passed the order after the investigating agency failed to submit the report on Tuesday.

Earlier, on January 15, 2026, the court directed the CID to carry out further investigation into the murder after the complainant expressed dissatisfaction with the probe and filed a naraji petition against the charge sheet submitted by the Detective Branch (DB) of police, seeking further investigation.

Inspector Foysal Ahmed of the DB submitted the charge sheet on January 6 against 17 accused, including alleged shooter Foysal Karim Masud and his parents-Humayun Kabir and Hashi Begum.

According to the case statement, Foysal Karim Masud and Alamgir Hossain opened fire on Hadi while he was travelling in a battery-run auto-rickshaw on December 12, 2025, before fleeing the scene.
