Stressing the importance of revival of the spirit of Liberation War, Prime Minister's ICT Adviser Sajeeb Wazed Joy said Saturday all need to work together so that the future generation chants the 'Joy Bangla' slogan in a louder voice, reports UNB.
"After 1975 till 1990 people, especially the young, used to feel shy in voicing the 'Joy Bangla' slogan because they were taught that they shouldn't utter it. What is the meaning of the two words? …. The meaning is victory of the Bengal …," he said.
Joy, also the son of the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, said this while addressing the 'Joy Bangla Youth Award' giving ceremony organised by Centre for Research and Information held at the Krishibid Institute in the city.
Thirty people received awards in five categories-business entrepreneurship, community development, research and innovation, social inclusion and empowerment and cultural activities-in recognition of their contribution to society.
Joy said, "The Joy Bangla slogan is not only the slogan of Awami League…it's the slogan of our independence…it's the slogan of Bangladesh…The future generation must utter the slogan louder shedding the shame."
Mentioning that the country is moving forward under the leadership of Awami League, the PM's adviser said the youth will make the country forward further through their hard work and merit.
