The High Court (HC) granted on Tuesday bail for three months to Gazipur City Corporation (GCC) mayor and BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia's adviser MA Mannan in two cases filed with Joydebpur and Kaliakair thanas, clearing the way for his release from jail, reports UNB.
An HC vacation bench of Justice Sayed Ziaul Karim and Justice Jafar Ahmed passed the order.
Advocate Khandakar Mahabub Hossain stood for MA Mannan.
Mannan's counsel Masud Rana said as he secured bail in all cases now there is no bar to his release.
Earlier, the HC granted bail to Mannan in six different cases.
On February 11, detectives picked MA Mannan up from his DOHS residence in Baridhara of the capital in connection with a petrol bomb attack on a passenger-bus in Gazipur on February 4. Six cases were filed against mayor Mannan with Joydevpur, Kaliakoir and Sreepur thanas on various charges.
