Give back ‘abducted’ leader Zulfiqur

Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) has demanded that the government should produce "abducted" Swechchasebak Dal leader Zulfiqur Siddique before the public.
BNP senior secretary general Ruhul Kabir Rizvi made the demand at a press briefing at the party's Nayapaltan office in the capital on Sunday.
Zulfiqur, convener of Satkhira's Shyamnagar Upazila Swechchasebak Dal unit, was abducted by some people who claimed themselves as law enforcers, he alleged.
Mr Rizvi also alleged that Zulfiqur was 'abducted' around 10:30pm on Saturday from Chalteghat Bazar in Shyamnagar.
Plain-clothes members of a law enforcement agency caught and took him Zulfiqur to a microbus.
Local Jubo League leader Uzzal took away Zulfiqur's motorbike just after his abduction.
The BNP senior secretary general said that local shopkeepers tried to resist the abductors, but failed.
Zulfiqur's mother told police that they were yet to know her son Zulfiqur's whereabouts.
Meanwhile, BNP senior leader Dr Abdul Moin Khan visited party's joint secretary general Mujibur Rahman Sarwar in his house in the capital on Sunday on his release from jail on bail.
Sarwar was detained by police and sent to jail in several cases filed against him on charges of their clashes with police during party's grand rally in the capital on October 28, 2023.
