Voicing concern over the killing of four passengers of a bus in a petrol bomb attack in Mithapukur Upazila of Rangpur, BNP Wednesday alleged that the government has again indulged in its old game of carrying out acts of sabotage by its agents to shift the blame onto the opposition, reports UNB.
"The current illegal regime has again resorted to its old game of carrying out subversive acts on transports by its gents during the BNP-led 20-party's ongoing blockade programme to confuse people and shift the blame onto the opposition," said BNP joint secretary general Ruhul Kabir Rizvi.
In a statement, he also said, "We don't have any word to condemn such subversive acts."
He claimed that the killing of people by hurling a petrol bomb in Rangpur has link with the Awami League (AL) government's continued and old dirty misdeeds.
Mr Rizvi alleged that those had shot BNP chairperson's adviser Reaz Rahman in the city Tuesday night also hurled the petrol bomb at a passenger bus in Rangpur, killing four people and injuring 12 others.
He demanded the government immediately arrest those involved in the incident and mete out exemplary punishment to them.
The BNP leader prayed for salvation of the departed souls and conveyed deep sympathy to the bereaved family members and wished early recovery of those injured.
Four people, including a child, were burnt to death and 10 others suffered injuries in a petrol bomb attack by miscreants in Mithapukur Upazila early Wednesday on the 9th day of the countywide non-stop blockade, enforced by the BNP-led 20-party alliance.
The bus was heading towards Dhaka from Ulipur Upazila of Kurigram.
