Govt appoints 10 DAG, 30 AAG

The caretaker government has appointed 10 deputy attorneys-general (DAG) and 39 assistant attorneys-general (AAG) drawn from the Supreme Court Bar under the current reshuffle in the headquarters of law officers.
"The President, in exercise of his powers, has made the appointments," an official announcement said Thursday, a day after a big lot of 78 law officers in the country's highest court were given their marching orders, reports UNB.
The newly appointed deputy attorneys-general are Syed Haider Ali, Naima Haider, M Abu Bakr Siddiqui, M Zahirul Islam, M Shamsul Huq, Zahirul Huq Zahir, Idris Khan, Umme Kulsum Begum Rekha, M Ali Akand and M Mozammel Huq.
The new assistant attorneys-general are Syed Quamrul Hossain, AFMM Zubair Hossain, Mahfuza Begum, M Zakaria, Kazi Zinat Huq, M Zulfiqar Matin, M Ikramul Huq, Khondoker Diluruzzaman, Shahnaz Huq, Suchira Hossain, Nawazish Ara Begum, Farida Ysasmeen, Ishrat Jahan, M Abdul Khalek, M Mamunur Rashid, ASM Abdul Mobin, ABM Mahbub Sumon, M Shafiqul Alam, SM Shahjahan Kabir, M Abul Harun, Kazi Ahsan Habib, M Manjur Alam, Lutfun Nahar, Salma Rahman, M Yasin Newaz Khan, Khondker Aminul Huq, Maksuda Akhter, M Shoeb Khan, M Moslem Uddin, Mir Shafiqul Islam, AHM Obaidul Kabir, Abdul Hye Bhuiyan, M Iqbal Hossain, Helal Uddin, Nahid Jahan, Runa Naharin, M Osman Gani, ABM Siddiqur Rahman Khan and M Imam Hossain.
During Wednesday's shakeup, five junior attorneys were elevated to deputy attorneys-general.
