The government has appointed 454 law officers in different courts in Chattogram and Sylhet, reports UNB.
The Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Ministry issued separate notifications in this regard on Thursday.
Of the total prosecutors, 351 were appointed in Chattogram while the rest in Sylhet.
Government pleaders, additional government prosecutors, public prosecutors, additional public prosecutors, special prosecutors and assistant prosecutors are among the law officers.
They were temporarily appointed in accordance with the provisions of Section 492 of 1898 and Rule 1 of Chapter 2 of The Legal Remembrance Manual, 1960.
The order will come into effect immediately.
